Yea, so to my future kids no "chocolate dipped" anything will be made by me.
Seriously.
Today I attempted a pin.
This one to be exact:
The recipe seemed easy.
Graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate chips.
I had those.
I can do that.
Right.
Except this recipe was very detailed.
And I followed every detail.
Until it got to the melting chocolate part.
All the lady who wrote it said was "So I melted the chocolate"
She didn't say how...so I thought it must be easy!
You just put it in a pot and heat it.
Only it didn't get smooth and chocolatey. It was thick.
And then I waited and It just burned.
It was a disaster.
So then I had no more chocolate, and I was left with just plain smores.
I improvised and used the only thing I had in my cabinets that would work.
I melted peanut butter and dipped the smores in that.
Not amazing, but not bad either.
This was a big fat fail, and completely my fault.
Mel.

In your defense, melting chocolate is HARD!
ReplyDeletemelting chocolate is difficult! but at least they are edible!
ReplyDeleteSeriously the easiest way to melt chocolate is in the microwave!!! A 6oz bag and 1 tbsp butter in the microwave nuke for about 45 seconds. Stir, if not smooth put back for 15 sec intervals until smooth. Either way you can't go wrong with smores!!
ReplyDeleteOh man! That sucks! I typically use chocolate chips and melt them in the microwave. I pour them (as many as I will need) in a bowl, heat for a minute and then stir and do the interval thing like Kerry.
ReplyDeletePinterest makes everything look so simple but we all know the truth!
ReplyDeleteThey still look good to me! I'm so lazy and get chocolate melts and use the microwave. Haha!
